Tea Party Propaganda

Tea Party Propaganda

Postby Objectivitees on Sat Apr 24, 2010 10:09 am

Objectivitees has been reading many articles in newspapers (yes there are a few still around) concerning the rise of the Tea Party. While this is clearly a Conservative political movement, and one that is gaining momentum, it would seem the Liberal writers of America's papers would want us to believe it is insignificant.

How do they accomplish this? By the usual means of course, downplaying the numbers of participants, marginalizing their objectives as out of touch, or by the good old fashioned method of not even reporting what's happening as if the party was insignificant and un-newsworthy to begin with. These are all effective means of keeping a populace ignorant when it comes to those who only glance at headlines, and don't even bother to read in depth. But how do they handle those few brave leftists who really want to know the truth concerning these things?

Unabashed hypocrisy.

In well over half of what are supposed to be "objective" reports, Objectivitees has noticed a reference to the Tea party that is easy to overlook... possibly as an "innocent" error, or maybe intended to be understood as a "humorous" slight...(so that one tends not to notice its significance) and that is the use of the term "Tea Baggers" when referring to the phenomenon of the movement as a whole or in reference to individuals. The reference "Tea Baggers" in place of the proper label "Tea Party", always comes off in context as pejorative, and Objectivitees believes this is no accident. First, if it were an honest mistake, we wouldn't be seeing so many repeated examples of it. Second, it has become a frequent tactic of the Liberal left to use derision to discredit it's opposition in the minds of its followers.

How is this hypocrisy?

Consider the causes the Liberal left generally tend to support. They have championed personal "freedom" to the degree where holding traditional Judeo-Christian ethics are considered a mark of ignorance and bigotry. They support pre-marital sex, extra-marital sex, post-marital sex. They supported the repeal of laws against sodomy, and adultery. They support the belief that any sexual behavior is acceptable as long as done between "consenting adults". They support group sex. They even support the idea that sex before adulthood is not harmful. (So long as no adults are involved, got to give them credit for that one) Of course, let's not forget the soup Du jour, Same sex sex. In short, the Liberal left has so long been a champion of sexual liberty, one has to wonder if there are any limits at all to their concept of sexual acceptability.

In this light, Objectivitees simply wonders this...
Are we (the 'Right') supposed to be offended or feel praised by the use of the term "Tea bagger"? After all, if the premise of their beliefs are correct, (sexual liberty prevails) and nothing about sex can truly be considered "wrong", how is it they use the term in the pejorative, without offending their own base?
On the one hand, any sexual behavior is supposed to be allowable, yet the use of a colloquialism describing a specific sexual act is supposed to demonstrate the narrow-minded ignorance and bigotry, of their political opponents. We will say it again. Unabashed hypocrisy.

Objectivitees guesses if you are on the left, there are no rules and truly, anything goes.
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect 1 Peter 3:15
